<description>Anyone of us who has played cricket or followed the great game I ask as world wide friends and fans of the great Geoff Boycott to really step back for 10 minutes and think about what an achievement and effort it is to make 100 hundreds.....not in the back yard or the street....not for the school....not for the local village 11....not for your local club..... but FIRST CLASS CRICKET....
We are talking Yorkshire and England????
100 times Geoff Boycott made a century and then he did it another 51 times!!!!!

I&#039;m trying to imagine the years of dedication, self control, sacrifice, practice, injuries, politics, and shear determination and talent needed.

48000 runs!!!!

Absolutley outstanding.
All the best to Geoff Boycott and all his loyal fans

<description>I see something new and different in the BBC footage every time I watch it, I love seeing all the fans, their reactions, the police, the other players, Geoff, the balcony, everything...I could watch it a 1000 times a week and I would never get tired of it.

I love how Geoff wore his sleeves rolled up above his elbows, equal width, his collar up, his gum chewing...He always looked immaculate, even after 300 minutes of batting!

I really love the bubbly in a glass and the beer in a glass offered to Geoff when the fans invade the pitch and Geoff looks gobbed smacked-outer body even-

I really love the guy who is virtually the last to greet and congratualte Geoff (he is the tall man in blue shirt) He is determined to shake hands with Geoff and congratulate him when a Police Man says something to him...probably something like..get off the bloody ground, give the man some space,,,,

Well the guy in the blue shirt has a right old Yorkshire go at the Police Man as if the copper is the one breaking the law or the one out of order, he angrily says to the Police Man look pal I&#039;m going to shake the great mans hand and there&#039;s nowt your going to do about it! :-)
Like try and stop me pal...

Great Stuff

<description>My Australian Wife (not a cricket fan) watched the above BBC footage of Geoff Boycott&#039;s 100th hundred and I kept quiet (which was hard as I always speak of Geoff Boycott..)

The first thing she said...Gosh, wow, he looks like a really strong, fit and healthy man.

I told her Geoff&#039;s age at the time and that he played First Class Cricket until he was 45 and she was shocked. Especially about how fit and healthy and strong he looked for nearly 37 in the footage. I expained Geoff&#039;s accident at the age of 8 and his spleen being removed, also his dear old Dad who suffered a crippling back injury, I also spoke about proud and strong Jane Boycott and how Geoff cared for her in later life and during her
illness. I told her about Geoff&#039;s brave battle with cancer and even showed her a photo of a 10 year old steely eyed determined Boycott....

She was very impressed and Geoff has another fan.

<description>Dear Geoff and all his loyal fans!
HERE IS A GREAT THREAD, EVERYONE COULD POST WHERE THEY WERE AND WHAT THEY WERE DOING AROUND 10 to 6 on that famous day above when Geoff Boycott made history.......

I could start it off- I was watching (glued) to the TV in Australia (aged 12) and remember the pitch invasion, fans offering Geoff a glass of bubbly and beer on the ground, Geoff putting his hands in the air, the England balcony and the beautiful English Summer day.

I bet there are a million more exciting stories than that out there, maybe you were one of the fans who offered Geoff a drink?? maybe you were in a far off land?? the great Brian Clough even stopped everything for it!! :-)

Would love to hear your story, all the very best to all.
