What’s IN and OUT of Geoff’s team this week

Posted on | December 9, 2009 | 2 Comments

In the third of a regular series on www.geoffboycott.com Geoffrey chooses which of your subjects make his XI this week. In this edition he decides whether tired cricketers, Murali’s Test wicket haul, reality TV and eight other subjects are IN or OUT of his team.

Send your IN or OUT subjects to editor@geoffboycott.com and we will try and include them in future weeks.

Many thanks to everyone that has sent IN and OUT subjects so far.

    Mr.Geoffrey Boycott sir,

i read your comment about SEHWAG on cricinfo

you said sehwag cant get 300 on moving tracks so he is modern day great on batting picthes…

sir, how many players got 300 on moving picthes like newzealand and england to become great..

whole world says that dravid, tendulkar, gavaskar they are great batsmans, did they got 300 on moving picthes to become great…

why sehwag needs to get 300 on moving picthes to become great …when all the players like dravid, gavaskar, tendulkar needs to get just 100 to become great….is that not unfair on sehwag to say that get 300 on moving piches to become great.. if others in the history considered great just by getting 100s on moving piches….

    Hello Mr. Boycott,

I have always enjoyed your commentary & for the last few years, i have been enjoying your article in Crininfo.
I read your recent comment about Sehwag… to an extent I do agree with you but after looking at his scores in places like Australia, South Africa & England… I will have to say he has done much better than in the chances he has got. He has score 195 at Melbourne agaist a strong Aussie bowling…which in itself speaks volumes about his batting. If we see Sachin’s record in Australia, he scored 3 big hundreds in SCG & hasnt done well at MCG. Sachin hasnt even score a 50 in Lords but still being called a great batsman. I think we shoudnt label a player as a Great one only on basis of his score & the what type of pitches be plays on. A players greatness should be judged based on how many matches he has won for his country single handed. And with this mind, I wish to state that Sehwag has won more matches for India (like the match in Chennai against England..etc) than Sachin.
