How important can it be to win a simple toss of the coin and then make the “right” choice.

I only played club cricket and I know that’s a million miles away from International Test Cricket, but as the captain, I always batted first if I won the toss.

I always felt we were in with a chance despite who we were playing, if we had the runs on the board.

I think Alastair Cook is a humble and proud enough man to be the first in the England team to say the “buck stops with me”

He is a smart man in “cricket terms” and in “life in general” and I feel the series against New Zealand would have been a real wake up call for Cook and hopefully the whole team.

I still have a slight concern about the mind set and consistency of the English bowling attack.

I want England to retain The Ashes.

Focus England!

If there was ever a time to bury Australia on home turf……….it’s now or never.

Australia are on the ropes, let’s keep them there and really deliver that final and fatal blow.

Bairstow needs to play in this Ashes Series.
