Sri Lanka and South Africa the best sides at the World Cup but Bangladesh worse than before

We have been here for nearly five weeks and the first quarter-final does not start until Wednesday. It is barmy. This World Cup is too long and it is hurting the credibility of the game.

Top teams will fancy facing inconsistent England

If England get through to the quarter-finals I will not be putting my money on them.

England at their best on bad pitches

Stuart Broad is our best bowler in one-day cricket. He has extra pace and bounce so he will be a big loss. I don’t think Kevin Pietersen will be such a setback because he is not the dominant player he could be, or should be, with his range of shots or strokeplay.

Excellent cricket performances around the world

Whilst everyone is focusing on the forthcoming Ashes series there have been some really excellent performances around the world from both national teams, and individuals. I really can’t decide which is the best.

Greed is killing the game

The Asia Cup is under way in Sri Lanka but does anyone outside the four countries taking part really care?
